La Terraza de Blanq

La Terraza del Blanq is the rooftop bar of the Blanq Carmen Hotel, on Calle Blanquería, number 11, at the point where the old El Carmen quarter meets the Turia gardens. The hotel occupies a stately townhouse just a few steps from the Torres de Serranos, the medieval city gate, and the terrace sits on its fifth floor, high enough to look out over the Turia park, the towers themselves and the skyline of the historic centre.

This is not a club but a relaxed rooftop for the late afternoon and evening. The space is furnished with comfortable loungers and furniture in natural materials, the music stays in a lounge and chill-out register, and the main attraction is the light at sunset over the old town. With space for around 80 people, it feels more like a calm terrace among friends than a busy bar. The small rooftop pool next to it is reserved for hotel guests.

The drinks menu covers cocktails, with and without alcohol, cava, champagne, wine, beer and premium spirits. To eat there is a short menu of tapas and seasonal dishes with a local touch, enough for a light dinner while the sky changes colour over the rooftops. Drinks are usually priced between 10 and 18 euros, which is normal for a hotel rooftop in the centre.

The crowd mixes hotel guests, visitors exploring El Carmen and locals who want a quiet drink with a view before dinner or a night out. People usually dress smart casual, without any strict dress code, and the minimum age is usually 18. It works well for a date, a small celebration or a first drink with friends visiting the city.

Practical tips: the terrace is seasonal and opens daily during the warmer months, roughly from spring to early autumn. The hotel currently lists afternoon and evening hours, from around half past four until eleven at night, but times vary by season, so check before you go. Space is limited, so arrive early for sunset or ask the hotel about reservations. Afterwards, El Carmen is right below you: walk past the Torres de Serranos to the bars around Plaza del Tossal and Calle Caballeros, or take an evening stroll through the Turia gardens.
