Spook Club

Spook, long known as Spook Factory, is one of the names that defined Valencia's clubbing history. It has been running since 1984 at Carrera del Riu 399 in Pinedo, just south of the city on the way towards El Saler, and it was one of the key clubs of the Ruta del Bakalao, the circuit of clubs along the coast road that drew ravers from all over Spain in the 1980s and 1990s. Its bat logo is still one of the most recognisable symbols of that era.

After a period of closure, Spook reopened in 2023 and has since repositioned itself as a serious electronic club. The venue is big, with space for around 2,000 people, several rooms and large outdoor terraces that come into their own in spring and summer. Line-ups are usually split between the main room, a room called Cubo and the Sunbox area with Oven Garden, the outdoor party that runs alongside many nights. One of the rave rooms was redesigned in 2026 by Clap Studio, with deep blue tones and pyramid-shaped acoustic panels covering walls, pillars and ceiling to create a dry, direct sound.

The club opens on Saturdays, and the programme is firmly techno and house with international headliners. Recent nights have included Dax J, Tama Sumo for the eleventh anniversary of Special-K, Ellen Allien for a Spook Invites night, and Jamie Jones for the end-of-summer closing, as well as collectives such as HÖR, Wololo Sound, Techture and Disforia. The house motto, aquí no se baila, se vuela, here you don't dance, you fly, gives an idea of the intensity. There are also occasional 80s and 90s anniversary parties celebrating the club's past.

The crowd is made up of electronic music fans from Valencia and beyond, mixing veterans of the Ruta years with a younger generation. Entry is 18 and over, and although the dress level is smart rather than sporty, the real requirement is to come ready for a long night on your feet.

Saturday sessions start in the late afternoon, around five or six, and run until about half past seven in the morning, so many people arrive at sunset for the terraces and stay until close. Tickets are sold in advance through the club's ticket partners and generally cost around €15–€25 depending on the line-up. Because Spook sits outside the centre, plan transport in advance: taxis or ride-hailing apps are the easiest option, and sharing a car home is common. Upcoming nights are listed on this page.
