Miniclub

Miniclub is a small electronic music club on Avenida Blasco Ibáñez, near Plaza de Honduras in the Algirós district, one of Valencia's classic student nightlife areas. It has been programming techno and house for well over a decade, and as the name suggests, it is the opposite of a big commercial club: one compact room where the DJ is close and the music is the reason people come.

Capacity is around 100 people, which gives the place an intimate, sociable feel; on a good night the room fills quickly and the dance floor and the booth almost merge. Over the years promoters have praised the sound system, and the club has at times also used a smaller second space, the Up Room, for different styles. Do not expect VIP areas or bottle service, just a dark room, a solid system and a crowd that is there to dance.

The music is techno, house, minimal and other underground electronic styles, mostly in the hands of local and national DJs. Names such as Bernna Prietto, T.Tommy, Lessone, Kuke and Alexein appear again and again on the weekend line-ups, and guides have mentioned DJs like Marien Baker, Gustaff and Coqui Selection in the programme. During busy periods Miniclub opens practically every night of the week, with free-entry sessions that each have their own identity, such as No Wi-Fi on Thursdays, Monkey Business on Tuesdays, the SR.Events Music Showcase on Wednesdays and Freedom or Insensatos at the start of the week.

The crowd mixes local electronic music fans with students, as the university campuses along Blasco Ibáñez are close by, and a share of international students and young travellers. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with no strict dress code: casual clothes and comfortable shoes are the norm. The minimum age is 18.

Sessions usually run from midnight until around 07:30. On Fridays and Saturdays entry is often free before 01:00 and paid after that, so arriving early is the simplest way to save money; when there is a cover charge it usually sits around 8 to 15 euros, sometimes with drinks included, and special guests can cost more. Weeknight sessions are frequently free all night. Tickets and guest lists are published on Xceed.
