L'Umbracle Terraza

L'Umbracle Terraza is an open-air club inside the City of Arts and Sciences, at Avenida del Professor López Piñero 5. It occupies a garden terrace under L'Umbracle, the long landscaped walkway with white arches designed by Santiago Calatrava as part of the complex, so the setting is one of the most recognisable in Valencia: the illuminated buildings of the Ciudad de las Ciencias all around you while you dance.

The terrace covers about 4,000 square metres of garden with Mediterranean plants, palm trees and sculptures, furnished with lounge sofas and soft lighting. There are separate bar areas and a VIP zone with bottle service, and our listing puts the capacity at around 1,200 people. It is at its liveliest in the warm months, roughly from late spring to early autumn, when the open-air setting makes the most sense.

The music is commercial and mainstream: reggaeton, top 40, current hits and house. Directly underneath the terrace is Mya, an indoor club with a contemporary design run by the same group, and one ticket usually covers both, so many nights move downstairs as the hours go on. A regular fixture is the Flag Tandem Party run by Valencia Language Exchange, held on Saturdays from 22:30, which brings an international crowd of students and expats.

Expect a mix of local groups, international students, tourists and quite a few bachelor and bachelorette parties. This is one of the dressier spots in the city: our listing marks it as elegant, and trendy clubwear is the norm, with sportswear and flip-flops best left at home. The minimum age is 18.

Club nights run from Thursday to Saturday, from around midnight until 07:30. Tickets and VIP tables are sold through the venue's official ticketing, and entry usually costs between 15 and 25 euros according to our listing, although some nights are cheaper or include guest-list options. The complex is a long walk from the old town, so most people arrive by taxi or ride-hailing, ideally after dinner in Ruzafa or near the City of Arts. Upcoming nights are listed on this page.
