The rooftop of the Barceló Valencia hotel, known as the 270º Terrace or 270º SkyBar, is on the hotel's tenth floor on Avenida de Francia, directly facing the City of Arts and Sciences, which is only about 100 metres away. It is not a club but a hotel terrace bar, and in Valencia it belongs to the short list of places people go to specifically for the view and a drink before dinner, rather than for a night of dancing.
The name refers to the wide panoramic sweep from the terrace: Calatrava's white buildings in front, the surrounding neighbourhoods of Camins al Grau and the skyline stretching back towards the centre. The terrace sits beside the hotel's outdoor pool and solarium, and there is also an indoor, air-conditioned lounge, which is handy in July and August because the open-air part has very little shade.
The offer is built around cocktails, wine and spirits, with a classic cocktail list that includes mojitos alongside house creations and a few tapas. Music stays at lounge level rather than club volume, and visitors regularly mention that you can hold a conversation. Our listing notes occasional DJ sessions, but these depend on the season and the hotel's programme, so do not plan a night around them.
The crowd is a mix of hotel guests, couples, visitors who have spent the day at the Hemisfèric or the Oceanogràfic, and locals who bring friends from out of town to show them the view. Dress is smart casual; beachwear or gym clothes will feel out of place. Minimum age in our listing is 18. Prices are at hotel level: expect a minimum spend of about €10 per person on your first order, cocktails in the region of €15 and drinks generally in the €12 to €20 range.
The best moment is around sunset, especially in summer, when the evening light falls on the City of Arts and Sciences and the terrace is at its most photogenic. Seating is limited and it fills up quickly on warm evenings, so arriving a little before sunset is the safest way to get a good spot; no booking is usually needed just for drinks. Opening hours change with the season, so it is worth checking with the hotel before making a special trip. Afterwards, the City of Arts and Sciences is a pleasant walk away, and in summer the L'Umbracle terrace and the Mya club, in the same area, are an easy next stop if you want to keep going.
