Azza Club

Azza is the nightclub inside Palau Alameda, the leisure complex on Calle Muñoz Seca, right by the Paseo de la Alameda and the gardens of the old Turia riverbed. The building used to be the Alameda Palace, a hall many Valencians remember for New Year's Eve galas and wedding banquets. It reopened in September 2018 as a mixed venue with the ÀTIC rooftop bar and restaurant, an events hall and this club, next door to the Piscina de València.

By Valencian standards Azza is compact, built for roughly 300 people, so it feels more like a lounge club than a big discotheque. At the 2018 opening the interiors by the designer Parolio combined botanical motifs, a touch of the 1950s and nods to Valencian crafts such as ceramics and textiles. The venue's own description today talks about New York-style décor and the bohemian spirit of Montmartre in its artistic performances. Expect a dance floor framed by tables, careful lighting and a strong focus on cocktails.

Club nights run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from around 23:30 until 04:00, and the recurring sessions are simply called Azza Noches de Jueves, Viernes and Sábado. When the club opened, Thursdays revolved around well-known electronic hits and popular songs from different decades, while Fridays and Saturdays had themed parties. The current mix covers reggaeton, pop, commercial hits, house and some indie, with DJ sets and occasional live performances.

Azza applies a minimum age of 21, so the crowd tends to be a little older than in student clubs: groups of friends, couples and people coming on from dinner. Smart casual is the safe choice: a shirt or a neat top, clean trainers or shoes, and nothing too sporty. On busy nights, booking a table is the most reliable way to make sure you get in with a group.

ÀTIC and Azza were designed to work together, so a common plan is dinner or drinks upstairs with views over the Alameda and then moving down to the club after midnight; the complex has also run afterwork and weekend tardeo sessions. A taxi drops you at the door, and the Aragón and Alameda metro stations are within walking distance.
