Live Music: Jimmy Glass Jazz
Tuesday is one of Jimmy Glass's regular nights. This tiny jazz club in El Carmen books legitimate talent—local musicians who could play anywhere but choose Valencia. Around 21:00 start, intimate room, serious listening. If you're into jazz at all, this is where you go on a Tuesday.
10-15 euros usually. Worth checking their Instagram before heading over—they don't always program Tuesdays, but when they do, it's good.
Fallas Prep: Workshops Still Running
We're exactly one month from Fallas (March 15-19). Fallas committees across the city are putting final touches on their ninots. Some neighborhoods—especially Benimaclet and El Cabanyal—have open workshops where you can watch.
This is peak prep time. Artists working late, neighbors arguing about designs, the smell of paint and papier-mâché. Not official tours, just walk through the right neighborhoods and you'll find them. More authentic than anything you'll see in March.
Quiet Drinks: Where Locals Go
Tuesday isn't party night. It's conversation-and-a-beer night. Head to Ruzafa's quieter bars—Café Mercedes, Ubik Café, the wine bars on Calle Sueca that don't need to advertise because they've been full of regulars for twenty years.
El Carmen on a Tuesday feels completely different than the weekend. Same streets, different energy. Café del Duende for vermut, La Más Bonita for wine, Bar Ricardo if you want to stand at the bar with people who've been drinking there since before you were born.
Late Night Options
If you actually want to stay out late on a Tuesday (respect), your options are limited but exist. Radio City sometimes programs weeknight shows. The underground venues in Benimaclet don't care what day it is—if something's happening, it's happening.
Check Telegram groups and Instagram if you're plugged into that scene. Otherwise, accept that Tuesday is a recovery night. Valencia will be here tomorrow.
Food: Actually Get a Table
The upside of Tuesday: restaurants that require weekend reservations have walk-in space. That good Valencian place you've been wanting to try? Tonight's your chance.
Mercado de Colón closes early on weeknights, but the sit-down restaurants around it stay open. Traditional Valencian spots in El Cabanyal serve better paella on Tuesdays than tourist traps serve any day of the week.
Tomorrow's Wednesday
Which means the weekend is visible on the horizon. But tonight's Tuesday. Valencia's still Valencia, just quieter. That's not a downgrade—it's a different experience. Maybe better, if you're not trying to recreate Saturday on a weeknight.
